Introduction to the Study of Revelation
God revealed the future of the Earth to Jesus Christ who related it to the apostle John. John was instructed to write what he heard and saw for future use of all mankind. The Study of Revelation is the one true accounting of what will occur on the Earth that we are living on now. This prophecy is not John’s opinion of what will happen to the Earth but God’s revelation of what the future of Earth will be. The Bible is filled with prophecy particularly in the Old Testament. When Joseph interpreted Pharaoh’s dream he revealed information about what was to happen in the next fourteen years. Having knowledge of what was to happen in these fourteen years saved many lives but enslaved all the people in the nation of Egypt to Pharaoh (See Genesis 41). Daniel’s interpretation of Nebuchadnezzar’s dream revealed a much longer period; approximately 1.100 years. The kingdoms involved are tabulated below. The dates are all approximations.
The revelation of God, as given to John, covers the time period from around the birth of Christ to the end of the earth as we know it. John relates the situation that led to his writing of this Revelation by God in chapter 1, verse 1thru 20 (Rev 1:1-20). Would you like to know what caused John to write Revelation?
